Institute of Wisdom |Islamia College Peshawar | History | Architectural Style

This is to one of the oldest institutions of Pakistan "Islamia College Peshawar".
Islamia College of Peshawar is 100 Year Old University that's Found in Peshawar.I'm glad, I had the chance to spend three months here before joining UET.

Coming towards its foundation, So it was founded by the personal initiatives led by Sir S.A Qayyum and Sir George Roose-Keppel in 1913.
When Sir S.A Qayyum visited College in Ali Garh & asked the students if they had any problem, the students of NWFP who were studying there said that they need a hostel.

Listening to this problem he thought for a while & replied "If I make a hostel here it is better then why should I not create a college for you people in Peshawar." an outsized plot of land was purchased for the varsity building from the Khalil (Arabs) of Tehkal.
Rs. 1,50,000/- from Nizam of Hyderabad was sent by Syed Abdul Jabbar Shah to Sahibzada Abdul Qayyum as donation for the school.

The style of architecture of the building may be a blend of Islamic Mughal traditions combined with typical Curzonean touches.

The Architectural elements used in Islamia College building are genius borrowed from Eastern and Western sources. They are used in terms of symbolism and style Ass the rationale of attraction and utility.
It's architecture is a source of attraction for photographers too & also wedding couple shoots are taken here.
