International Labour's Day

 International Labour's Day

In the late nineteenth century, the working class was in constant struggle to gain the 8-hours work day. Working conditions were severe and it was quite common to work 10 to 16 hour days in unsafe conditions. Death and injury were commonplace at many work places.

As early as the 1860's, working people agitated to shorten the workday without a cut in pay, but it wasn't until the late 1880's that organized labor was able to garner enough strength to declare the 8-hour workday. This proclamation was without consent of employers, yet demanded by many of the working class. At that time, socialism was something a new trend in societies.

Keeping all the tumult and materialism of busiest world, many social organizations arose the feelings of workers. When many organizations sprung up for their rights, it was proclaimed on 1st May, 1886 ‘Law and Order for Labors rights”. according to this, special hours were devised and 1st may was designed as HONOR for Labors.

Labors are the backbone of any Nation. The one keeping all the burden on their shoulders, they are like keeping bricks on the floor and building up a castle of gold on it. Either its about to dough mud with water or to carry out bricks in the scorching heat, labors sets the basis of any Nation. If there won’t be any labor in the society, there won’t be sky reaching buildings in any Nation.

Labors sets out goals for the entire society. They helps in making out schools needed for the literary society, buildings, offices for the economic development of any Society. According to United Nations, workers were given their basic rights and the honor of celebration in whole Globe.

The purpose of celebrating this day is to give them honor and make world ensure the struggle of labors working irrespective of scorching heat. The struggle of working in rains or in the winter making everyone shiver are labors, the backbone of any society. Without them, nations can’t carve their history in Globe.

Without them, no Nation would be able to develop. That’s the reason, their contributions are needed to be celebrated with the honor and celebrations all over. They don’t show their hardwork, yet their silence would shriek in world like on 1st May, everyone claims to celebrate INTERNATIONAL LABORS DAY.

Words stronger than any I could write are engraved on the Haymarket Monument:

THE DAY WILL COME WHEN OUR SILENCE WILL BE MORE POWERFUL THAN THE VOICES YOU ARE THROTTLING TODAY.
