On 12 January 2020, the World Health Organization(WHO) confirmed that a novel Coronavirus was the cause of a respiratory illness in a cluster of people in Wuhan City, Hubei Province, China, which was reported to the WHO on 31 December 2019, approximately 4 months ago.
Now, this small cluster of people includes more than 6 million people worldwide with India’s headcount at around 0.1 million cases- a pandemic at play here.
Throughout these 5 months, coronavirus has spread its deathly arms in almost all the states and union territories in India with Maharashtra leading with the maximum number of active cases.
The number of active cases in India is increasing or rather skyrocketing with the numbers being controlled at earlier stages of the lockdown. The reasons are numerous for the steeply rising curve of the active cases.
Unrest among migrated occupants of various cities led to the headlines being the next-to-impossible journey these people are ready to travel for the sake of returning home. People are losing their patience with some of them intentionally breaking lockdown for nefarious purposes but mainly people are not psychologically meant to stay indoors for a long period of time.
Also, misinformed people traveling in crowds to railway stations or bus stops with no proper precaution has also led to a considerable increase in the number of active cases.
Lobasic necessities also poses a problem in a developing country like India.
All in all, misinformation, lack of patience, underlying nefarious acts have all culminated into this death trap, breaking out of which is going to be really difficult.
