Let's hear it from someone who does.
“I'm a guy, and I'm straight, but there's something different about me that people need to know. I believe that this page is for accepting differences, so I'd like to share my story.”
I want to give a basic introduction first. I'm a guy. I can play the guitar, write poems and stuff, sing a bit, and represent my school in a lot of competitions. I am somewhat good at academics too. Seems like a perfect life, right? It isn't.
I was in class 8 when I realized that our biology teachers are teaching us wrong. They say, "Women have estrogen and progesterone while men have testosterone." This is a misconception. Men have higher testosterone levels than women, and women have higher levels of estrogen and progesterone. I have a rare condition (not a disease).
I have higher levels of estrogen and progesterone compared to other men. This has resulted in an intestinal tract infection that causes me to bleed every month. It's like a menstrual cycle, but the blood comes out of the penis, in my case. And I feel the same excruciating pain too.
I may be a guy, but there are days when I don't want to get out of my bed. There are days when I want to eat a few chocolates and sleep. There are days when my abdomen burns like hell, and my penis is numb. Yet, like women, I get up from bed, clean myself, and go to work.
I remember the first time I saw the bloody waterfall. I told my parents about it, and dad was like, "Ookhane ki kore kaatli?" (How did you injure that part?). It was confusing for me and really difficult, but everything doesn't end on a bad note. My parents are supportive. I've accepted that I'm going to stay this way forever.
The only reason I'm hiding my identity is that many people don't know that people like me exist. If you're a woman, please think twice before telling a guy, "no uterus, no opinion" for, he might be like me... I just want all of you to spread this as much as you can because many people need to know about this. After all, men like me need support too...
